Board Elections for the 2026-2028 Biennium

Every two years CFUW members are able to vote for candidates who have been nominated for election to the CFUW Board. The new Board will assume office at the AGM in Montreal in July. The Nominations Committee invites nomination applications for all Board positions. Any CFUW member in good standing who is qualified and interested for a board position is encouraged to submit a nomination application. The Nomination Period is from February 27 – April 13, 2026, and the forms must be submitted by 5:00 pm ET on April 13th. 

For clarification, all Board positions are considered vacant, as the term of office of the current Board members expires at the end of the biennium. This means that every candidate for a position, even if she is currently a board member and would like to continue in her current position, must be nominated for the office.

Board members who are elected at the 2026 AGM serve until their successors are elected at the 2028 AGM. Board members can serve on the Board for three consecutive terms of two years, after which they are ineligible to be elected for the subsequent biennium.

Applicants for CFUW Board positions must demonstrate an understanding of the responsibilities and commitment that the position entails. They must also demonstrate a commitment to dedicate the time required to attend Board meetings, participate on committees and attend annual events. 

Elections for Board positions will take place at the AGM in July 2026. Nominations from the floor will be accepted and details about this procedure will be sent out with the AGM material.

Each candidate must submit an Application for Nomination through the Google Form (https://forms.gle/54sKvm17jpZSPSy88), and she must be nominated by her Club, using the Club Nomination Form.

The Club Nomination form can be found in the Nominations folder in the Members Drive and must be submitted to Jaime Beagan at execdir@cfuw-fcfdu.ca.

As required by our administrative procedures, the board job descriptions are to be re-evaluated at the end of each biennium. The board has updated the majority of them, with the rest (VP Regions and VP International Relations) of the updates being sent out once completed.

Once approved, a second nominations newsletter will be sent with the new updated board job descriptions.
