In this NGO CSW parallel event, co-hosted by the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) and Women Graduates-USA, panelists will discuss the progress made and ways forward to achieve gender equality, highlighting the importance of:

  • Opening doors to leadership through education (Joan-Marie Aylward, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland & Labrador)
  • Supporting girls’ agency through a quality education (Wanda Bedard, President & Founder of 60 Million Girls)
  • Fostering women's and girls’ innate critical thinking skills (Geeta Desai, Co-Director of Global Affairs, Women Graduates-USA)
  • Accelerating progress on the Beijing Platform for Action: An intergenerational dialogue (Soon-Young Yoon, Cities for CEDAW Founder & Organizer of the NGO Forum at the 1995 Beijing Conference).
