Join Mary Scott and Audrey Hobbs-Johnson for an inspiring Indigenous Learning Session featuring special guest Rachelle Grabarczyk recipient of the Charitable Trust Award this past year.

Rachelle will share her experiences and lead a conversation with CFUW members about her work engaging communities across Canada. She will explore how Métis identity is articulated within communities, and how these frameworks continue to shape Métis self-governance and rights across Canada.
Rachelle is a proud Métis woman and citizen of Métis Nation–Saskatchewan and a 2026 Juris Doctor candidate at the Peter A. Allard School of Law, University of British Columbia. She received the Sullivan Memorial Prize for achieving the highest grade in Aboriginal and Treaty Rights. Her research examines the social and legal construction of Métis identity and its impact on self-governance.
In addition to her academic work, Rachelle:
- Collaborates with UBC’s Faculty of Medicine on research addressing negative framing of Indigenous Peoples in health literature
- Mentors Indigenous law students
- Coordinates a legal education program for underrepresented youth
- Serves on the Métis Youth Aansaamb ni Wiichihtonaan Committee
