Throughout history, women have challenged barriers, driven social change, and shaped the communities we live in today. Yet the stories of many women, particularly those from diverse backgrounds and communities, have often been overlooked and have not always received the recognition they deserve within historical narratives.
Join the National Council of Women of Canada (NCWC) during Women's History Month for an inspiring conversation with historian, author, and educator Dorothy Williams. Together, we will explore the significance of Women's History Month and reflect on the importance of recognizing the diverse experiences and contributions of women.
Dorothy will share insights from her extensive work documenting and preserving Black Canadian history, including her work founding Blacbiblio.com and developing the ABC's of Canadian Black History Kit through Program ABC, which supports educators in bringing Black history into classrooms. This conversation will highlight the importance of ensuring that the voices and achievements of underrepresented communities are remembered and celebrated.
Join the National Council of Women of Canada on October 13, 2026, at 7:30 PM (ET) for this important discussion, held virtually via ZOOM.
